Assistant Finance Officer

A Queer Muslim woman and a human rights defender. In 2013, Susan
participated in an exchange program in Norway to research on Intersectionality, and that gave her extensive experience in Finance, data research and logistics, in a bid to utilize her skills she joined GALCK secretariat as a volunteer in 2014, where she is the current Assistant
Finance Officer.

In 2009, she had a significant life-changing incident that gave her a perspective about life. Lost friends gained sisters, but no regrets.
Susan is the only Queer Muslim woman in the organization and works with a diverse groups of humans to provide a safe and enabling environment for Queer Kenyans. She is also a community organizer and mobilizer who is passionate about LBQ women’s issues that she centers in her activism.
In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends, watch soccer and have a drink. She aspires to run for a legislative seat as the first Muslim Queer woman to help her community in bringing liberation for Queer Africans.
